Lavender Cottage Accessibility

This cottage is the “leg” shaped barn conversion in an T shape of four.

The cottage has full oil fired central heating with individual thermostatic valves on the radiators and a control system that is within the cottage. There are smoke alarms and a fire blanket and small extinguisher. There are small plug in emergency lighting lamps and a torch under the sink. All doors are Yale type and can be opened from the inside without keys.

This cottage sleeps 8 with four bedrooms, all upstairs with two twin and 2 double rooms, two ensuite bathrooms and a further family bathroom and a downstairs lavatory.

Arrival and Car Parking

  • Luggage can be unloaded 25 meters from the front door. There is level access and the ground is either tarmac or paving.
  • Car Parking is available 25 meters from the cottage door. A space can be reserved on the tarmac if requested. Otherwise car parking is on an unbound but fairly solid surface.
  • The front door to the cottage has a wooden threshold strip that is 5cm high. The door is 78cm wide.

The Cottage

  • The minimum width of the downstairs doorways is 85cm.
  • The ground floor is all on one level with no steps.

The Hall

  • The front door leads into a hall which is 300cm by 320cm with the stairs coming up from the corner.

Downstairs Cloakroom

  • This is 100cm by 115cm. There is a loo with a height of 40cm and a basin height of 78cm.

Kitchen

  • The kitchen is 560cm by 340cm and has a tiled floor.
  • There are units on three half sides which are 90cm high.
  • The kitchen table is 100cm by 200cm and has a leg at each corner. It is 75cm high with an under table height (i.e. knee room) of 63cm.
  • There are wooden kitchen chairs without arms which have a seat height of 45cm.
  • There is a door which leads to the utility room which is 190cm by 220cm and a back door which is 70cm wide with step of 5cm.

Sitting Room

  • This room has a carpeted floor.
  • It is 560cm by 680cm.
  • There are two sofas and two chairs which are 40cm high.
  • There is a TV with freeview, DVD and video with remote controls and subtitles.
  • There are side tables, lamps and a chest of drawers with games etc.
  • There are patio doors which are 110cm wide with a 3cm threshold strip, leading onto a level patio. There are wooden table and chairs here.

The Stairs

There are 12 stairs which are 80cm wide, 50cm deep and 20cm high. There is a quarter landing and a banister rail on one side.

The upstairs landing is 80cm at its narrowest point.

First Twin Room

All beds have bedside lamps and a bedside switch for the main lights.

  • This is 570cm by 310cm wide and is fully carpeted.
  • It has 2 single beds (90cm by 195cm) which are 50cm high with a wooden headboard and baseboard.
  • There is freestanding furniture consisting of two wardrobes, and a dressing table. There are also two bedside tables, two chairs and a desk.

Shower Room

  • This is 240cm by 150cm and has a lino floor.
  • The shower has a corner door 00cm by 00cm and has a 20cm step into it. The access door is 45cm wide.
  • The loo is 42cm high.
  • The sink is 85cm high.

En-suite Twin Room

  • This is 440cm by 330cm.
  • It has two single beds (90cm by 195cm) which are 50cm high and have wooden headboards.
  • There is a freestanding wardrobe, a dressing table and two bedside tables. There is a wicker chair with arms which has a seat height of 40cm.

En-suite Bathroom

This is 250cm by 135cm and has a lino floor. It has a corner bath with a side height of 60cm, the basin height is 82cm and the height of the loo is 40cm.

Small Double

  • This is 440cm by 330cm.
  • It has a double bed which is 130cm by 190cm and is 53cm high. It has a wooden headboard and baseboard.
  • There is a freestanding wardrobe and chest of drawers and 2 bedside tables and a chair with arms with a seat height of 40cm.

Large Double En-suite

  • This is 330cm by 540cm with the en-suite shower room in the corner which takes up 190cm by 180cm.
  • There is a double sized bed which is 135cm wide by 195cm and is 50cm high. It has a wooden headboard and baseboard.
  • There is freestanding furniture consisting of a wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table and a wicker chair with arms and a seat height of 38cm.

En-suite Bathroom

  • It is 190cm by 180cm and has a vinyl floor.
  • It has a corner shower which is 90cm by 90cm with a step in of 25cm. The loo is 42cm high and the basin is 83cm high with a conventional pedestal.
