We are very lucky to live in
a lovely part of the world.
Panoramic countryside
views are part of our everyday outlook and the weather and
the passing seasons are meaningful to our day to day life.
On our 330 acres of land we have 230 cows and about 200
younger calves and heifers who are destined to become part
of our award winning pedigree herd.
Our best cow, Paxton Sunny Barbara gave over 12,000 litres
last year (that's about 21,000 pints!) Our milk is collected
daily and goes to a dairy in Manchester where it is bottled
and sold to major supermarkets.
We
sometimes have pigs and hens in the orchard.
We grow about 40 acres of winter wheat and 40 acres of maize
which we feed to our cows, alongside grass silage, during
the winter.
Occasionally we have a couple of orphan lambs which we rear.
These can be great fun as we have to bottle feed them.
Our best buy ever has got to be our huge trampoline.
Lots of our guests, our children, and their cousins, have
been having a wonderful time learning to seat drop, knee drop,
tuck jump, straddle jump and whatever other jumps you would
like to have a go at. Please don't forget that you must only
allow your children on the trampoline and indeed around our
farm animals under good supervision and that all activities
are at your own risk. Always remember to wash you hands after
being near to animals.
We have lots of wildlife here on the farm, foxes, badgers,
deer, hares and lots of rabbits can be seen, whilst owls,
buzzards, herons, swallows, bats and the occasional woodpecker
can be spotted in the air.
