| You
will find Oulton House Farm an excellent base for a short break or a
longer stay as there is so much to see and do to suit all tastes and
ages. Here is just a selection.
· Ironbridge.
There are many museums within this valley including Blists Hill Open
Air Museum, where you can experience the
atmosphere of a working Victorian community and Enginuity where
children can get hands-on experience with all sorts of inventions. You
can also enjoying seeing the world’s first Iron Bridge that
you can see stretching over the river Severn.
· Now transport yourself to The Aerospace
Museum at Cosford with its spectacular
collections of military and civil aircraft including the Comet,
Britannia, Viscount and VC10. February 2007 sees the opening of the
brand new Cold War national exhibition
· Still on a transport theme you
might enjoy a steam-powered trip on the Severn Valley Railway
that starts at lovely Bridgnorth.
· Another notable Shropshire town
is Shrewsbury situated in a loop of the
river Severn. It has lovely black and white houses, antique shops,
craft centres and tearooms.
· Hawkstone Park
is a Grade One historic park and contains many architectural follies
and geological sites within a spectacular circular walk. Enjoy the best
views in Shropshire.
· Alton Towers.
Britain’s best-loved theme park is only 55 minutes away. It
continues to develop new rides and really is worth a day out (or two)
if you are keen on white knuckle rides.
· West Midlands Safari Park.
This is a great day out for all as it offers both excellent animal
viewing and also good rides.
· Shugborough,
home of Lord Lichfield, which has lots to see including a lovely
farmstead with old-fashioned breeds of animals. It also hosts lots of
special events each year.
· Attingham Park,
Biddulph Grange
Gardens, Little Moreton Hall and Sunnycroft are all National
Trust properties within easy reach.
· Wedgwood.
This visitor centre has been redeveloped and now offers factory tours
as well as demonstrations and the chance to buy bargain seconds.
· Royal Doulton,
Moorcroft and Spode are also in the Potteries around half an
hour’s drive away.
· Gardeners will enjoy Bridgemere, the
UK’s largest garden centre and Wollerton Gardens, Dorothy
Clive and Hodnet Hall. Even Powys Castle
is within reach.
· The Snowdome in
Tamworth offers tobogganing and snowboarding on real snow and Waterworld has
a watery roller coaster. We also have many local fishing spots and golf
courses.

· Norbury
itself has a very popular walk (about 6 miles long) that was developed
as our Millennium project. It links up all five settlements within our
Parish and is marked by five granite boulders that were washed here
during the last Ice Age. Leaflets are available
· The Shropshire
Union Canal
is only a half hours stroll away and boat trips can be taken locally.
· The Trentham Gardens
have been beautifully revitalised and now have gardens, shops,
restaurants and an excellent monkey park.
· Revitalized Birmingham City Centre
with its shops, galleries, concert halls and museums (including the
excellent children’s Think Tank) is less than an hours drive
away and makes for a marvellous contrast with our rural tranquillity.
