· Ironbridge. There are many museums within this valley including Blists Hill Open Air Museum, where you can experience the atmosphere of a working Victorian community and Enginuity where children can get hands-on experience with all sorts of inventions. You can also enjoying seeing the world’s first Iron Bridge that you can see stretching over the river Severn.

· Now transport yourself to The Aerospace Museum at Cosford with its spectacular collections of military and civil aircraft including the Comet, Britannia, Viscount and VC10. February 2007 sees the opening of the brand new Cold War national exhibition

· Still on a transport theme you might enjoy a steam-powered trip on the Severn Valley Railway that starts at lovely Bridgnorth.

· Another notable Shropshire town is Shrewsbury situated in a loop of the river Severn. It has lovely black and white houses, antique shops, craft centres and tearooms.

· Hawkstone Park is a Grade One historic park and contains many architectural follies and geological sites within a spectacular circular walk. Enjoy the best views in Shropshire.

· Alton Towers. Britain’s best-loved theme park is only 55 minutes away. It continues to develop new rides and really is worth a day out (or two) if you are keen on white knuckle rides.

· West Midlands Safari Park. This is a great day out for all as it offers both excellent animal viewing and also good rides.

· Shugborough, home of Lord Lichfield, which has lots to see including a lovely farmstead with old-fashioned breeds of animals. It also hosts lots of special events each year.

· Attingham Park, Biddulph Grange Gardens, Little Moreton Hall and Sunnycroft are all National Trust properties within easy reach.

· Wedgwood. This visitor centre has been redeveloped and now offers factory tours as well as demonstrations and the chance to buy bargain seconds.

· Royal Doulton, Moorcroft and Spode are also in the Potteries around half an hour’s drive away.

· Gardeners will enjoy Bridgemere, the UK’s largest garden centre and Wollerton Gardens, Dorothy Clive and Hodnet Hall. Even Powys Castle is within reach.

· Norbury itself has a very popular walk (about 6 miles long) that was developed as our Millennium project. It links up all five settlements within our Parish and is marked by five granite boulders that were washed here during the last Ice Age. Leaflets are available

· The Shropshire Union Canal is only a half hours stroll away and boat trips can be taken locally.

· The Trentham Gardens have been beautifully revitalised and now have gardens, shops, restaurants and an excellent monkey park.

· Revitalized Birmingham City Centre with its shops, galleries, concert halls and museums (including the excellent children’s Think Tank) is less than an hours drive away and makes for a marvellous contrast with our rural tranquillity.
